xend error on FC12

vipul borikar

Hi ,
I have installed xen 3.4.2 package on FC12.

My dom 0 kernel is kernel-PAE-2.6.31.6-1.2.81.xendom0.fc12.i686.rpm. My machine is 32 bit Intel HT machine.

I am successfully able to boot the dom 0 but xend fails to start.

My xend.log shows:

I know lot of people have got this error , but i tried all possible tweaks but not able  to make xend running.

I have attached xend-debug.log and xend.trace .

I have  entry in fstab and also i have disabled selinux.

In xend-debug.log file shows some scsi files missing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I think the latest dom0 kernels rename evtchn to xen-evtchn, so you need
to make sure those modules are loaded. xend requires them.

Latest Fedora xen-3.4.2 rpms should take care of that. If you installed
from source, then that's likely your problem.

Re: [Xen-users] xend error on FC12

vipul borikar
Thanks for the tip. Fedora xen rpm worked.
Previously i was using source packages.

But what is the solution if i use source package?
I renamed the file xen-evtchn to evtchn in modules folder and did depmod , it didn't work.
Anything i need to change in source files ?

Thanks
Vipul

Don't rename. Just load xen-evtchn, not evtchn.

That's the only "fix" Fedora xen rpms have.
