F20 install compat-gcc-34-g77 conflicts

Stephen Berg (Contractor)-2
Trying to get compat-gcc-34-g77 installed for one of my users that is
trying out F20 and it's failing.

Transaction check error:
   file /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/32/crtbegin.o from
install of compat-gcc-34-3.4.6-29.fc19.x86_64 conflicts with file from
package gcc-4.8.2-7.fc20.x86_64
   file /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/crtbegin.o from install
of compat-gcc-34-3.4.6-29.fc19.x86_64 conflicts with file from package
gcc-4.8.2-7.fc20.x86_64

Is there a fix for this or at least one in the works?

On a whim I uninstalled gcc, got compat-gcc-34-g77 installed and then
reinstalled gcc.  Now it's all installed and happy.  I don't get it, I
don't understand, and as long as the user is happy I'm not gonna argue!  :)

It appears that there should be a dependency requirement for
compat-gcc-34-g77 on gcc which is missing. You may consider filing a
bugzilla report so that this is fixed?

Why should be there a dependency on gcc through?  compat-gcc-34-g77 doesn't
need gcc to be installed, the files go into completely different
directories.  The above message doesn't make any sense,
gcc doesn't own /usr/lib/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6 or any files in that
tree, it owns /usr/lib/x86_64-redhat/linux/4.8.2 and files inside of it
instead.

gcc-4.8.2-7.fc20.x86_64 shouldn't care about anything in
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/ . Did you have some sort of local
fix, such as a symlink from 3.4.6 to 4.8.2 ?
